Ran (2 Disc) - Akira Kurosawa's superb samurai reworking of Shakespeare's King Lear.

US RELEASES

Hideshi Hino Theatre of Horror Box Set (6 Discs) - Hideshi Hino's Manga is brought to life in this box set compilation of feature films.

JAPAN RELEASES
Amazing Nuts - Anime and Music meet from the makers of Animatrix, Mind Games and Memories.
Brave Story - Animated adventure from studio Gonzo.
Daiteiden no Yoru ni - Festive tale during a black-out in Tokyo at Christmas, stars Etsushi Toyokawa and Tomorowo Taguchi.
Hana Yori Mo Naho - Hirokazu Koreeda's latest, a samurai film featuring Junichi Okadad and Rie Miyazawa.
Lovely Complex - Romantic comedy adaptation of Nakahara Aya's wildly popular shojo manga Rabu*Kon.
Runin - Okuda Eiji's acclaimed tragic romance set in a penal colony during the late Edo period .
The Uchoten Hotel - A farcical situation comedy set in a hotel, Kouki Mitani's film stars Koji Yakusho.
Yureru - Joe Odagiri stars as one of two brothers coming to terms with the accidental death of a childhood friend.

YUME PICTURES Announce Seijun Suzuki and Yasuzo Masumura line-up: (01.12.06)

Yume Pictures (UK) are a new distribution outfit who are currently releasing a crop of classic films from both Seijun Suzuki and Yasuzo Masumura.

While Seijun Suzuki is considerably well known around the world for his off-kilter cult cinema stylings, this is the first time that the works of Yasuzo Masumura will see the light of day outside of Japan. Seen as a pioneer ahead of his times and influential upon the works of Miike and Chan-wook Park his films are deliriously stylised nightmarish worlds. With titles sheduled through to May 2007 some of these releases will feature behind the scenes featurettes, trailers and exclusive interviews with Seijun Suzuki covering his vast back catalogue of films. Also included are essays written by critic Tony Rayns.
